photoIt is hard to believe that I have been living in Kansas City now for over a month and a half.  This past weekend my roommate, Brian and I moved all of our belongings to our new home.  This wonderful house in Independence, MO, is a gift from God.  This is a shared house with our church, the upstairs is used for living space and the downstairs is used for meeting space.

God continues to meet needs here in Kansas City.  Day after day He is proving himself faithful and reassuring us in his perfect will.

I was recently reminded of an absolutely powerful scripture that reminds me of why I am here in KC.  That passage is Ezekiel 24:15-18.

It reads, ” The word of the LORD came to me: ‘Son of man, with one blow I am about to take away from you the delight of your eyes. Yet do not lament or weep or shed any tears. Groan quietly; do not mourn for the dead. Keep your turban fastened and your sandals on your feet; do not cover the lower part of your face or eat the customary food of mourners .’ So I spoke to the people in the morning, and in the evening my wife died. The next morning I did as I had been commanded.”

I am here in Kansas City, MO because of the perfect will of God.  It is as simple as that.  There is no room for second thoughts or grief, but simply a a choice to submit to his will.  Ezekiel followed the will of God.  It wasn’t easy (it rarely is) but he got through and did as the Lord commanded.

What is the Lord calling you to do? Who is calling you to reach out to?  Where is calling you to go?

Find that thing, Find that person, Find that place.

Continue to pray with us at EPIC Church as we seek to follow His will.
